Katie Becomes a Rotarian*
*Well, at least an honorary one.
Mayfair Rotary, the club that sponsored my Ambassadorial Scholarship, graciously invited me to become an honorary member earlier this year. They meet weekly in Wauwatosa, the city where I grew up and where my parents still live. Even though I live an hour away in Madison, I feel very connected to the Tosa community. How could I turn down an offer like this?
Mayfair Rotary has been a strong supporter of Project Japale Goune since its inception and were the first club to contribute regularly through club fines. Their early and strong support really helped give me the motivation to continue to see this dream through.
Tonight, it was made official at the annual changing of the guard ceremony. I even got an official nametag! I am honored to be welcomed by a Rotary Club that is making such positive change in the community.
Thanks Mayfair! I promise to eventually submit the nametag to the club’s official supply: as soon as I am done showing it off!
