Used Laptop Needed
Our partnership with L’Ecole Primaire de Point E is sustained mainly by the hardworking and dedicated M. Sane, who has given countless time and energy to this project and never asked for anything in return. He is one of those unsung heroes who quietly goes about serving others, simply because helping is its own reward.
In order to make his life a lot easier, and to make our partnership stronger, we would like to be able to outfit him with a laptop. Currently, each time he needs to create a montly report, budget statement, or send us an email (sometimes daily) he walks to the closest cyber cafe. There he deals with unreliable internet connections, viruses galore, and the regular electricity cuts that plague Dakar.
Do any of your PJG supporters out there have an old laptop that you could donate to Project Japale Goune? We only ask that it has enough speed and memory to run MS Office and has a battery that can outlast Dakar power outages (at least an hour). Of course, the value of the laptop can be taken as a tax deduction.
